Wet tanning is a method specific for taxidermy purposes. Hides/capes are tanned with a level of moisture remaining in the skin upon completion, the skins are then bagged and kept frozen.
When the taxidermist is ready to begin mounting, the skins will be thawed retaining optimal stretch to fit the form.
This process eliminates the need for further re-hydration which in turn saves time and money!
